RTL Design Manager
Role Summary
Manage a front-end SoC design team responsible for RTL implementation, IP integration, and preparing designs for synthesis for next-generation Adaptable Compute Acceleration Platform devices.
The role provides technical leadership across microarchitecture, RTL implementation, design reviews, and cross-functional coordination to deliver high-performance, low-power SoCs and chiplets.
Experience Level
Senior-level. The posting requests 12+ years of relevant SOC/ASIC design experience.
Responsibilities
Lead and execute delivery of RTL design projects while growing and coordinating the engineering team.
- Manage team activities: hiring, coaching, performance reviews, and retention.
- Plan projects, track execution, and report key metrics and status.
- Drive microarchitecture-to-RTL implementation and timing closure across multiple clock domains and power modes.
- Run and manage design and tapeout reviews, feature and quality assessments, and retrospectives.
- Integrate internal and external IP and coordinate with verification, physical design, integration, and product stakeholders.
- Improve team processes and automation; evaluate and adopt AI-assisted tools where appropriate.
- Participate in tapeout checklists and ensure readiness for synthesis and signoff.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and leadership experience for immediate contribution.
- Extensive digital design and RTL implementation experience in Verilog/SystemVerilog.
- Practical experience with DFT and executing DFT flows.
- Experience with common SOC design tools: SpyGlass, Questa CDC, Cadence Conformal, VCS.
- Experience specifying timing constraints across multiple clock domains and modes.
- Familiarity with Synopsys Design Compiler and PrimeTime.
