Role Summary
AMD is seeking a capable SOC Design Engineer to join the Front End SOC Design Team, focusing on the design and implementation of high-performance, low-power SOCs and SOC Chiplets for various applications. This role involves technical leadership in developing microarchitecture, implementing functions in RTL, and preparing designs for synthesis.
Experience Level
Mid-level, with specific experience in SOC/ASIC design and relevant projects.
Responsibilities
The key responsibilities include:
- Analyzing design blocks for automotive usage faults and vulnerabilities.
- Defining micro-architecture for future SOC building blocks based on requirements.
- Performing RTL design and debugging in Verilog/System Verilog.
- Integrating hard macro or soft RTL IP into SOC top level.
- Creating power domains and islands with UPF.
- Executing quality checks for RTL/UPF/SDC deliverables.
- Analyzing design metrics to optimize PPA.
- Targeting SOC RTL to process technology.
- Facilitating DFx/MBIST instrumentation.
- Collaborating with verification and physical design teams for quality design and tape-out success.
- Designing and implementing Power Management and DFT infrastructures.
- Building automation with Python, TCL, or Perl to enhance team productivity.
Requirements
Required skills and experience:
- Solid background in SOC/ASIC Design.
- Proficiency in RTL design using Verilog/System Verilog.
- Understanding of DFT technologies and execution flows.
- Experience with SOC tools like Spyglass and VCS simulation.
- Knowledge of FPGA architecture and implementation flows.
- Strong communication skills and ability to present complex information.
- Fluent in a Linux environment.
- Experience with scripting languages such as TCL, Python, or Perl.
