RTL Design Engineer, DFT
NVIDIAJob Title
RTL Design Engineer, DFT
Role Summary
Design engineer on the DFT team responsible for defining, coding and integrating Design-for-Test (DFT) components across ASIC projects. Work spans micro-architecture, RTL implementation, tape-out and silicon validation for Switch, NIC and SoC product lines.
Experience Level
Mid-level. No explicit years of experience specified.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include implementing DFT features and integrating them into large chip projects while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Define, micro-architect and code DFT components and features in RTL.
- Integrate DFT blocks into projects and support tape-out and silicon bring-up.
- Collaborate with architects, RTL designers, verification, back-end and production test engineers.
- Debug and troubleshoot DFT implementations in pre-silicon and silicon stages.
- Participate in design integration, area/power/timing trade-offs and production testing activities.
Requirements
Core skills and abilities required. Education items are summarized separately below.
- Exposure to RTL implementation and RTL coding practices.
- Familiarity with verification tools and methodologies.
- Strong debugging, problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and ability to work in geographically distributed teams.
- Self-motivated, independent and target-oriented.
- Nice-to-have: prior design or verification experience; experience developing complex design blocks; integration of design elements into large clusters or full-chip; experience working with back-end teams on area, power and timing closures; scripting ability.
Education Requirements
B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
