Job Title

RISC-V AI / HPC & Agentic Software Engineer

Role Summary

Lead software engineer operating at the hardware–software boundary to enable AI, HPC, and agentic AI stacks on Tenstorrent’s RISC-V processors. Responsible for integrating and optimizing low-level kernel infrastructure for CPU execution and driving the bring-up of a RISC-V–native agentic AI stack (runtime orchestration, distributed execution, memory systems, and developer tools).

Work closely with CPU architects, microarchitecture teams, compiler engineers, and AI kernel developers. Role is remote based out of Taiwan.

Experience Level

Senior / Lead-level. The team reviews candidates at multiple levels during interview and final offer will align to assessed level.

Responsibilities

Deliver and lead software work to enable performant AI/HPC workloads on RISC-V CPUs.

  • Integrate and optimize the Low-Level Kernel (LLK) stack for CPU execution on Tenstorrent RISC-V processors.
  • Lead the design and bring-up of a RISC-V–native agentic AI software stack, including runtime orchestration and distributed execution frameworks.
  • Design and implement memory systems and developer tools required for goal-driven/agentic AI systems.
  • Collaborate with CPU architects, microarchitecture, compiler, and kernel teams to align software and ISA features.
  • Profile, benchmark, and optimize performance-critical code paths and runtime components.
  • Validate instruction-level behavior and support hardware–software co-design iterations.
  • Drive testing, profiling, and cross-team integration for scalable distributed AI workloads.

Requirements

Core technical skills and operational constraints required for the role.

  • Must-have: Strong background in HPC and AI software development; deep understanding of RISC-V ISA and micro-architectural implications.
  • Must-have: Proficiency in C/C++ and systems programming; experience optimizing performance-critical code paths and runtime systems.
  • Must-have: Experience with distributed AI systems, orchestration frameworks, or agentic AI architectures.
  • Must-have: Familiarity with compiler toolchains (LLVM, GCC) and with profiling/performance analysis tools.
  • Preferred / Nice-to-have: Experience with vectorization, custom ISA extensions, or accelerator integration.
  • Preferred / Nice-to-have: Prior work on runtime orchestration for distributed AI, memory-system design for HPC, or related developer tools.
  • Employment contingent on eligibility to access U.S. export-controlled technology; offers may require citizenship/permanent residency or prior license approval and may be rescinded if compliance is not possible.

Education Requirements

Not specified.
