RFIC Design Intern
Role Summary
Internship within Qorvo's High Performance Analog group working on RFIC design projects. The role involves schematic design, simulation, modelling and lab verification of RF/mmW functional blocks in CMOS, BiCMOS and RFSOI technologies. Specific projects and responsibilities vary by business needs.

Responsibilities
Typical responsibilities during the internship may include:
- Contribute to design of RF/mmW blocks (LNAs, PAs, VCOs, mixers, phase shifters, attenuators, switches) and supporting analog/interface circuitry.
- Perform device and electromagnetic modelling for high-frequency designs.
- Simulate circuits and contribute design schematics and layouts.
- Compare simulations to lab measurements and iterate designs.
- Use RF test equipment (signal generators, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, power meters) to collect and analyze data.
- Consider tradeoffs among performance, size, cost, power dissipation and schedule while meeting requirements.

- Must have: Hands-on experience or coursework in RF/mmW circuit design and simulation.
- Must have: Familiarity with simulation and design tools such as ADS, Cadence, HFSS, EMX.
- Preferred: Exposure to RF measurement equipment (spectrum/network analyzers, signal generators, power meters).
- Must have: Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Must have: Self-starter with effective written and verbal communication, organization, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
Education Requirements
Internship program is for students enrolled in an accredited Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD program. The posting specifically targets candidates currently pursuing an MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering with a focus on RF/mmW IC design. Minimum GPA expectation noted as 3.3. RF/mmW circuit design coursework or equivalent experience is expected.
