RF Technology Development Integration Engineer - SMTS
Role Summary
Lead integration and development of RF FEOL semiconductor devices and processes to meet performance, cost, and yield targets for GF's RF Technology Development team in Malta, NY.
The role executes design-of-experiments (DOE), partners with process module engineers, characterization and failure analysis teams, and drives technical problem solving and process qualification.
Experience Level
Senior β typically 5+ years of semiconductor processing experience (strong industry experience in process development and FEOL device work expected).
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include process development, optimization, qualification, and cross-functional technical leadership.
- Develop, optimize, and qualify FEOL semiconductor devices and processes to meet performance, cost, and yield requirements.
- Design, execute, and analyze DOEs to drive process improvements.
- Partner with unit process module engineers, failure analysis, and characterization teams to improve device performance and yield.
- Own and drive technical process problem solving and root-cause analysis.
- Establish technology design rules, test structures, and test methodologies.
- Innovate methods for continuous process and device improvement.
- Interact with internal and external customers and respond to technical queries.
- Follow and support Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred attributes are listed separately.
- 5+ years experience in semiconductor processing and process development (RF/FEOL focus preferred).
- Hands-on experience with Silicon or SiGe BiCMOS FEOL processing and semiconductor process development.
- Experience with Cadence or other layout and simulation tools.
- Strong data analysis skills and experience interpreting experimental results.
- Fluent in written and verbal English.
- Willingness and ability to relocate to Malta, NY.
Nice-to-have:
- TCAD experience.
- Experience leading device or process development projects.
- Experience in DC and RF device design and characterization, including high-frequency design and S-parameter measurement/analysis.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and project-management skills; proven ability to work in a global matrixed team.
Education Requirements
Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related engineering/physical science discipline preferred. Equivalency options stated by employer: BS + 8β10 years, MS + 7 years, or PhD + 5 years of relevant experience.
