RF Technology Development Integration Engineer – Principal Engineer

Role Summary

Join the RF Technology Development organization as an integration engineer responsible for development, optimization and qualification of BEOL semiconductor devices and processes. The role is based in Malta, NY and supports RF semiconductor technology development for internal and external customers.

The position drives technical problem solving, establishes test methodologies and design rules, executes designed experiments, and partners with process, characterization and failure analysis teams to meet performance, cost and yield targets.

Experience Level

Level - Senior. The posting indicates a minimum of 2+ years of relevant experience in silicon BEOL processing and/or semiconductor process development.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include process development, qualification, and cross-functional collaboration to improve device performance and yield.

  • Develop, optimize and qualify BEOL semiconductor devices and processes to meet performance, cost and yield requirements.
  • Design, execute, and analyze DOE (design of experiments) to drive process improvements.
  • Partner with unit process module engineers, failure analysis, and characterization teams to diagnose and improve device performance and yield.
  • Own and drive technical process problem solving and corrective actions.
  • Establish technology design rules, test structures and test methodologies.
  • Respond to technical queries and interact with internal and external customers.
  • Innovate and implement methods for continuous process and device improvement.
  • Perform work in a safe and responsible manner and support Environmental, Health, Safety & Security programs.

Requirements

Must-have and preferred qualifications for successful candidates.

  • Must-have: 2+ years of experience in silicon BEOL processing and/or semiconductor process development.
  • Must-have: Practical experience with DOE design, execution, and data analysis.
  • Must-have: Experience collaborating with process characterization and failure analysis teams to resolve device/process issues.
  • Must-have: English fluency (written and verbal).
  • Preferred: Knowledge of semiconductor device physics and RF fundamentals (for example, S-parameters).
  • Preferred: Prior internship or co-op experience in semiconductor process or device work.
  • Preferred: Demonstrated leadership, project management ability, and strong communication, planning, and organizational skills.

Education Requirements

Graduating with a Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or another relevant engineering or physical science discipline from an accredited program. Minimum overall GPA of 3.0 required.
