RF System Integration Engineer

Role Summary

Design and validate RF and wireless systems from prototype through mass production for consumer products (e.g., iPhone, Watch, iPad). Develop calibration routines, test algorithms and automated test software. Collaborate with chipset vendors, test-equipment suppliers, and internal antenna and RF hardware teams to analyze performance and deploy wireless features at scale.

Experience Level

Entry-level (minimum 2 years industrial RF/wireless experience). Preferred: 5+ years or equivalent for more advanced software and system responsibilities.

Responsibilities

Primary duties include:

• Design and validate RF/wireless features from prototype to mass production.
• Create calibration routines and test algorithms for RF subsystems.
• Develop and maintain automated test software and measurement workflows.
• Collect and analyze wireless performance data; perform root-cause analysis and propose mitigations.
• Coordinate with chipset manufacturers, test equipment vendors, and internal antenna/RF teams.
• Support production test processes and high-volume manufacturing readiness.
• Travel domestically and internationally (~15%).

Requirements

Must-have skills:

• Strong fundamentals in RF transceiver blocks, communications theory, and RF parameters.
• Familiarity with RF/wireless test equipment and measurement techniques.
• Ability to read and write clear, efficient code in one or more of: C, C++, Python.
• Ability to analyze complex system-level problems and evaluate tradeoffs.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience developing test solutions for wireless standards (Wi‑Fi 802.11, Bluetooth, 5G, NFC, UWB).
• Knowledge of object-oriented design, scalable software architecture, and manufacturing test automation.
• Experience in consumer products, semiconductor, or aerospace RF environments.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Education Requirements

Required: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering plus 2 years of industrial RF/wireless experience. Preferred: Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) and/or 5+ years of industry experience or equivalent practical experience. Fields: Electrical Engineering or related technical disciplines. No specific certifications were listed.
