RF System Engineer
Role Summary
Design and optimize RF front-end modules for cellular and Wi‑Fi standards (W‑CDMA, HSDPA/HSUPA, LTE, LTE‑Advanced, NR 5G, Wi‑Fi). Work on hardware development, module-level characterization, and system-level performance tuning as part of a cross-functional engineering team.
Experience Level
Senior - requires 8+ years of experience in wireless RF engineering.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Design, coordinate, and conduct experiments for module performance characterization.
- Design, bring up, and troubleshoot RF measurement and module validation setups.
- Lead module debugging, tuning, and optimization efforts.
- Collect, analyze, and report design-of-experiment (DoE) findings.
- Contribute to development of advanced front-end module (FEM) architectures and semiconductor process interactions.
Requirements
Minimum required skills and experience:
- 8+ years of professional experience in wireless RF engineering.
- Proficiency using RF test equipment for characterization of power amplifiers (PAs).
- Proficiency in programming for data processing and analysis (examples: MATLAB, Python, C#).
- Knowledge of PAs, RF filters, low-noise amplifiers (LNAs), and antenna switch (ASW) components.
- Hands-on experience with Envelope Tracking (ET) systems, including PA and supply modulator behavior.
- Understanding of ET/APT behavior and linearity effects (AM‑AM / AM‑PM distortion).
- Hands-on experience with memory and memoryless digital predistortion (DPD) techniques.
- Strong documentation, communication, and the ability to work independently in fast-paced, project-oriented teams and meet deadlines.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
