RF System Engineer
Role Summary
Responsible for hardware development and optimization of RF front-end modules for wireless standards (W-CDMA, HSDPA/HSUPA, LTE, LTE-Advanced, NR 5G, Wi‑Fi). Works on module design, characterization, bring-up, and performance tuning as part of a cross-functional project team.
Experience Level
Senior-level — 10+ years of experience in wireless RF design and characterization.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Design, plan, and execute experiments for module performance characterization.
- Design, bring up, and troubleshoot RF measurement and test setups.
- Lead module debugging, tuning, and optimization activities.
- Collect, analyze, and report Design of Experiments (DoE) findings.
- Contribute to development of advanced FEM architecture and semiconductor process integration.
- Support hardware validation, documentation, and cross-team technical communication.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- 10+ years of experience in wireless RF areas.
- Proficiency with RF test equipment for characterization of power amplifiers.
- Proficiency in programming for data processing (MATLAB, Python, C#).
- Knowledge of power amplifiers (PA), RF filters, low-noise amplifiers (LNA), and RF switch/ASW.
- Hands-on experience with Envelope Tracking (ET) systems, including PA and supply modulators.
- Understanding of ET/APT behavior and linearity (AM‑AM / AM‑PM distortion).
- Experience with memory and memoryless digital predistortion (DPD).
- Strong communication skills, ability to work independently and in fast-paced project teams, and clear documentation practices.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
