Responsibilities
Key duties focus on hardware and test development across RF and mixed-signal product lifecycles.
- Plan, design, optimize, verify, and test electronic systems including RF, analog, digital, FPGA, DSP, and test systems.
- Integrate features and functionality into hardware designs to meet product roadmaps and proposals.
- Perform simulations and analyses to optimize power, performance, and area.
- Develop and implement production test solutions to improve yield, test time, and quality.
- Evaluate and characterize materials, components, and manufacturing techniques; drive reliability assessments and automation opportunities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (design, verification, validation, software, systems, architecture) to implement requirements and test solutions.
- Assist in assessing complex design features for flaws, compatibility, or compliance issues.
- Produce detailed technical documentation for hardware projects and test procedures.
Requirements
Core skills and experience required for success in this role.
- Must-have: Multiple years of hands-on hardware engineering experience (commonly 2+ years).
- Must-have: Practical experience with circuit design (digital, analog, and/or RF) and schematic capture/circuit simulation tools.
- Must-have: Experience using hardware measurement instruments such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers and RF test equipment.
- Must-have: Ability to conduct simulations and analyses and implement designs that meet power, performance, and area targets.
- Must-have: Experience developing manufacturing/test solutions, supporting product bring-up and yield improvement.
- Must-have: Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to produce technical documentation and work across teams.
- Nice-to-have: 3+ years of hardware engineering experience; background in automation, ATE/test development, FPGA or DSP systems.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with reliability evaluation, process characterization, and production test optimization.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or a related field (typically paired with 2+ years of hardware engineering experience); OR a Master's degree in those fields (typical minimum 1+ year experience); OR PhD in those fields. A Master's degree is listed as preferred in the posting.
