RF Layout Design Engineer

Role Summary

Design and implement physical layouts for analog and RF integrated circuits with a focus on high-frequency performance and manufacturability. This role is part of the RF/layout engineering team at the Bangalore Electronic City site and is responsible for delivering tape-out-ready layout for complex analog/RF blocks.

Primary mission: translate circuit schematics into manufacturable layouts, perform verification and fixes, and drive designs from floor‑planning through tape‑out.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include implementation, verification, and project delivery for analog/RF layout projects.

• Develop physical layouts for RF and analog circuits (LNAs, mixers, PAs, and general analog blocks).
• Perform LVS, DRC, ERC and ESD verifications and implement required fixes.
• Use Calibre and other verification tools to validate designs and close signoff issues.
• Manage the project flow from floor planning through layout closure and tape‑out.
• Analyze and mitigate layout‑dependent effects; address ESD, latch‑up, IR drop, and EM concerns.
• Collaborate with radio/circuit designers and cross‑functional teams, including remote stakeholders.

• Must-have: 8–12 years of hands-on analog/RF layout experience; proven track record delivering full project cycles from floor planning to tape‑out.
• Must-have: Expertise in LVS, DRC, ERC, ESD verification and layout signoff; strong experience with Calibre tools.
• Must-have: Proficiency with current analog/RF layout techniques and layout‑dependent effects.
• Must-have: Experience with submicron process technologies (examples listed: 2nm, 5nm, 7nm, 10nm, 16nm, 28nm).
• Must-have: Experience with RF/high‑frequency circuits such as LNAs, mixers, and PAs.
• Must-have: Knowledge of IC packaging interactions and their impact on layout.
• Must-have: Ability to identify and remediate ESD, latch‑up, IR drop, and EM issues.
• Must-have: Strong communication and analytical skills for effective collaboration across teams.
• Nice-to-have: Experience with general analog layout (LDOs, bias circuits, bandgaps, op‑amps, clock trees).
• Nice-to-have: Scripting experience for verification or layout automation.
