Research Engineer - Advanced (OPC Modeling & Simulation Platform)
Role Summary
Develop modeling, simulation, and model-calibration software for OPC (optical proximity correction) workflows within a product engineering team. Deliver scalable modeling platforms, high-performance/distributed computing components, database-backed workflows, and engineering user interfaces.
Collaborate with product, research, and engineering teams to translate complex modeling challenges into robust, production-ready software.

Responsibilities
Primary duties include:
- Design and implement modeling and simulation features for OPC workflows.
- Build scalable, database-backed platforms and components for distributed or high-performance computing.
- Develop and improve user interfaces for engineering and data‑intensive applications (desktop or web).
- Translate research and modeling algorithms into maintainable software delivered through standard engineering processes.
- Write clean code, participate in code reviews, and contribute to CI/CD and collaborative development practices.
- Support data pipelines, model calibration, and performance optimization as needed.
Requirements
Must-have:
- Experience with modeling, simulation, or model-calibration workflows.
- Proficient in Python and/or C/C++ with the ability to write clean, maintainable code in a team setting.
- Familiarity with Unix/Linux development environments and common workflows.
Nice-to-have:
- Exposure to distributed computing, high-performance computing, or large-scale data processing.
- Experience with ML infrastructure, model-training workflows, or scalable machine-learning platforms.
- Familiarity with TCL or scripting languages and GUI frameworks (PyQt/PySide) or web-based UI technologies.
