Reliability Test Engineer

Role Summary

Senior-level engineering role responsible for planning and executing reliability and qualification testing for NPI and sustaining semiconductor products. Works with cross-functional teams (test, manufacturing, quality, and design) to develop test programs, debug failures, and improve test throughput and effectiveness.

Role focuses on electrical test development, test-fixture and handler modifications, data analysis, and continuous improvement of test methods and equipment.

Experience Level

Senior-level. Preferably 3+ years of experience in semiconductor electrical testing or test development.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include planning, executing and improving reliability test campaigns and supporting product qualification.

• Manage intake, planning and execution of NPI and sustaining product qualification and quarterly reliability activities.
• Develop and optimize electrical test programs and perform electrical test setups.
• Design, modify and validate test fixtures, test handlers and test equipment.
• Coordinate with Operations for test package release, prioritization and resolution of test-related issues.
• Drive continuous improvement of electrical test equipment, methods and processes to reduce cycle time and increase efficiency.
• Perform data analysis on reliability tests and report findings to Engineering and Quality teams.
• Standardize and align reliability test procedures across products.

Requirements

Essential technical skills, domain knowledge and personal attributes for the role.

• Must-have: Minimum ~3 years experience in semiconductor electrical testing or test development.
• Must-have: Experience developing electrical test programs and setting up test systems; working with test fixtures and handlers.
• Familiarity with electrical measurement tools (oscilloscopes, curve tracers, parametric analysers); thermal imaging and lock-in thermography are a plus.
• Knowledge of statistics and data-analysis tools for test result interpretation.
• Thorough knowledge of semiconductor component packaging and assembly processes and related reliability challenges.
• Understanding of thermomechanical, thermal and hygroscopic effects on package and PCB reliability.
• Working knowledge of industry-standard reliability test methods, acceleration models and sampling statistics.
• Programming skills such as Visual Basic (VBA), C# or C++ to support test automation and data handling.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, with strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Microelectronics), Physics or equivalent practical experience.
