Reliability Test Engineer (2027 New College Graduate)
Role Summary
Join the Reliability Engineering team at GLOBALFOUNDRIES Fab 8 in Malta, NY to support wafer- and package-level reliability characterization, technology development, and qualification activities. The role partners with FEOL, BEOL, and Product Reliability teams to execute reliability testing and advance test capabilities.
Experience Level
Entry-level - new college graduate position (targeted to 2027 graduates).
Responsibilities
Primary duties focus on reliability test execution, test-program development, and lab/equipment management.
- Develop and maintain test programs and automation using tools such as C#, Python, and C++.
- Perform wafer- and package-level reliability tests (HCI, BTI, TDDB, EM) and interpret results.
- Execute electrical measurements on semi-automatic and fully automatic probers.
- Manage test schedules, priorities, and resources to meet qualification timelines.
- Drive standardization and automation to improve operational efficiency.
- Manage equipment calibration, preventive maintenance, and utilization.
- Ensure compliance with safety, ESD, and Quality Management System procedures.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience for immediate contribution.
- Experience in semiconductor device characterization or reliability engineering (including internships or co-ops).
- Hands-on experience with probers (e.g., Cascade/Accretech) and testers (e.g., Agilent/Keithley).
- Proficiency in Visual Basic, C#, and C++ for test-program development and automation.
- Strong understanding of semiconductor device operation and reliability failure mechanisms.
- Ability to perform and document electrical measurements and qualification activities.
- English fluency (written and verbal).
- Nice-to-have: leadership or project experience from internships or campus activities; project management and strong planning/organizational skills.
Education Requirements
Required: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Microelectronics, or a related field from an accredited program. Must have at least a 3.0 overall GPA and demonstrated good academic standing.
