Job Title

Reliability Engineer

Role Summary

Responsible for planning and executing reliability tests for semiconductor packages at TI's Chengdu manufacturing site. Collaborates with production, R&D, and quality teams to identify failure causes, assess reliability risk, and drive corrective actions.

Focus areas include package reliability experiments, standards compliance, failure analysis, and improving production yield and robustness.

Experience Level

Mid-level β€” typically requires 3+ years of semiconductor packaging reliability or production test experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include test program development, experiment execution, failure analysis, and reliability standardization.

  • Develop and execute reliability test plans and deliver test reports for finished and semi-finished semiconductor packages.
  • Perform HAST, TC, HTOL, MSL, reflow, thermal shock, humidity aging and related package reliability experiments.
  • Conduct failure analysis and root-cause identification related to packaging processes; assess reliability risks.
  • Define product reliability standards and control procedures; support third-party reliability audits.
  • Drive corrective actions with process, equipment and design teams and maintain a reliability database.
  • Ensure compliance with industry reliability standards such as AEC-Q100 and JEDEC.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience for successful performance in this role.

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in semiconductor package reliability testing within a production environment.
  • Practical knowledge of semiconductor packaging processes, production SOPs, and production line operations.
  • Experience in failure analysis, yield improvement, and structured problem-solving (e.g., 8D reports).
  • Ability to coordinate cross-functional work with production, R&D and quality teams.
  • Familiarity with cleanroom production practices; able to support shift schedules and emergency overtime.
  • Proficient with standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office).

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree or above in Microelectronics, Electronic Information, Materials Engineering, Mechanical Automation, Measurement & Control Engineering, or a related engineering/science discipline (full-time undergraduate degree minimum stated in the posting).
