Regional Applications Development Engineer

Provide applications development and customer-facing technical support for PWG and Wafersight Surfscan products within KLA's Global Products Group. The role focuses on product characterization, demonstrating metrology relevance to customer yield issues, and delivering feedback to engineering to improve tools and algorithms.

Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include customer support, product characterization, and translating field results into engineering feedback.
- Provide applications development support for PWG and Wafersight products following standard procedures.
- Develop test cases; characterize new products and features; demonstrate metrology relevance to customer yield issues.
- Support development and implementation of customer-specific applications and workflows for PWG products.
- Deliver technical product demonstrations, prepare detailed product specifications, and assess applicability to customer needs.
- Characterize tool and algorithm performance; provide clear, actionable feedback to engineering during Alpha/Beta testing.
- Perform root-cause analysis and propose practical solutions using data analysis and statistical techniques.
- Travel to customer sites and support engagements (greater than 50% travel expected).

- Working knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes.
- Strong technical aptitude for data analysis/processing and statistical analysis.
- Excellent oral and written communication, organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
- Self-driven while able to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.
- Ability to rapidly understand customer requirements and manufacturing processes.
- Experience characterizing tool/algorithm performance and communicating findings to engineering teams.
- Programming or scripting experience (MATLAB or Python) is a plus.
Education Requirements
Master's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Material Science, or a related technical field.
