Role Summary

Work in Micron's Idaho fab on inline RDA inspection equipment to develop and maintain SEM/ADC and Optical (Brightfield/Darkfield) inspection recipes, monitor line health, and support high-volume manufacturing. The role focuses on detecting process anomalies, quantifying fabrication performance, and improving inspection strategies through data analysis.

Collaborate with process integration, process development, data science, and yield analysis teams to deploy inspection methods and align best practices globally. Micron is an equal opportunity employer.

Experience Level

Mid-level — requires at least 5 years of relevant experience in semiconductor inspection, RDA/Metro, HVM, or related team settings.

Responsibilities

Accountable for developing inspection recipes, detecting process issues, and collaborating across teams to maintain and improve wafer fabrication inspection and monitoring.

• Develop SEM review and ADC recipes to quantify semiconductor processing and establish statistical process control methods.
• Create Optical (Brightfield/Darkfield) inspection recipes and applications for process quantification and control.
• Operate and qualify new RDA tools and strategies to enable earlier or more efficient data collection.
• Identify, escalate, and respond to process anomalies and recommend corrective actions.
• Improve techniques and identify novel uses of existing tools to quantify process issues.
• Participate in technical meetings, synthesize solutions, and propose novel detection approaches.
• Collaborate with the global network to develop best-known methods and maintain alignment between sites.
• Support experimentation, analyze data, and track health metrics in high-volume manufacturing.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience. Education requirements are summarized below.

• 5–10 years experience working in RDA/Metro, HVM, or Semiconductor TD team settings (ESCAN, SEM, Brightfield, Darkfield, Macro, or related).
• Experience with optical/EBEAM defect inspection (ESCAN, Brightfield, Darkfield, Macro) and semiconductor manufacturing techniques.
• Practical experience developing inspection recipes and working with SEM and optical inspection tools.
• Strong technical communication and analytic skills; ability to innovate and drive effective change.
• Experience using data analysis to visualize and quantify process metrics.
• Ability to collaborate across process integration, technical development, data science, and yield analysis teams.
• Preferred: basic knowledge of CMOS circuits and characterization methods; strong understanding of semiconductor inspection equipment.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree required with a minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience in a semiconductor or programming field. Preferred: Master's or Ph.D. in Physics, Programming, Engineering, or related technical areas.
