RAS Lead

Role Summary

Lead Reliability, Availability and Serviceability (RAS) for the Embedded business unit as a center of excellence. Own RAS planning and execution across pre-silicon and post-silicon validation, coordinate with architecture, DV, firmware/BIOS, enablement and cross-functional teams, and drive roadmap and process improvements.

Responsibilities

Accountable for defining RAS strategy and delivering validated RAS features across the product lifecycle. Key responsibilities include:

  • Define and develop the RAS charter for the Embedded BU and establish the team as a center of excellence.
  • Plan RAS activities at pre-silicon stage; collaborate with DV and emulation teams to produce specifications and test cases.
  • Enable and validate RAS features with architects and engineering leads; ensure timely delivery and technical correctness.
  • Manage roadmap planning and continuous process improvements for RAS across the BU.
  • Lead troubleshooting, debug and triage throughout the validation cycle; drive issue closure and track milestone quality metrics.
  • Coordinate handover to post-silicon enablement, BIOS/FW, drivers, QA and CAE teams with complete documentation and test collateral.
  • Represent the team during customer escalations, critical issue resolution, and milestone reviews; communicate risks and mitigation plans.
  • Foster a culture of technical growth, openness and cross-functional collaboration within the team.

Must-have technical skills, experience, and leadership capabilities; preferred items listed separately.

  • Must-have: ~13 years of hands-on experience in HW and FW aspects of RAS feature implementation for x86 IPs (cores, memory, in-band and out-of-band RAS).
  • Proven experience with post-silicon enablement and validation, debug and triage across the validation cycle.
  • Experience with high-speed interfaces and interconnects such as PCIe (Gen4+ preferred), DDR4/DDR5/LPDDR4/LPDDR5, USB (Type-C, PD, 3.x/4.0), display interfaces and Ethernet.
  • Practical knowledge of power management as it relates to RAS and system validation.
  • Hands-on experience with high-speed and board measurement equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, network analyzers, debuggers, evaluation hardware, etc.).
  • Demonstrated ability to identify risks, propose mitigations, and uplevel issues to senior management.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with program managers, product managers, enablement leads, BIOS/FW, DV and silicon teams.
  • Nice-to-have: scripting experience (TCL, Python); prior work with emulation/DV/pre-silicon flows; experience with the listed protocols at advanced generations.
