R&D Software Engineer

Role Summary

Develop and maintain advanced Electronic Design Automation (EDA) software focused on electromagnetic extraction and related algorithms. You will join an international R&D software team working on core solvers and product-grade tooling, collaborating closely with local R&D, QA and Product Management in the Grenoble/Meylan area.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include software design, implementation and collaboration across teams.

• Design, develop and maintain software components and utilities.
• Implement and improve electromagnetic field solvers and related numerical algorithms.
• Develop linear solvers, APIs and integration utilities for product toolchains.
• Work closely with local R&D, QA and Product Management in Grenoble/Meylan and collaborate remotely with senior engineers.
• Contribute to algorithmic research and integrate new methods into product releases.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred items listed separately.

• Proven software development experience with strong C++ skills.
• Demonstrated knowledge of algorithms and numerical techniques used in boundary element (BEM) or finite element (FEM) methods for electromagnetic problems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience working on medium-to-large software projects and collaborating in cross-functional teams.

Preferred:

• Experience with IC CAD/EDA tools and flows.
• Knowledge of semiconductor process technology, device physics, modeling and simulation.
• Prior work on large-scale development projects or commercial EDA products.

Education Requirements

Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline (electromagnetics, applied physics, computational engineering) is required as stated in the posting.
