R&D Process Engineer (Entry-level)

Role Summary

Design, develop and optimize manufacturing processes for display and semiconductor technologies. Support R&D teams by collecting and analyzing process data, performing hardware characterization, troubleshooting basic engineering issues, and producing technical documentation.

Experience Level

Entry-level (New College Grad).

Responsibilities

Work under supervision to support process experiments and product implementation across R&D and manufacturing projects.

  • Collect, analyze, and compile data from process engineering experiments.
  • Perform hardware characterization on basic systems and measure film properties.
  • Troubleshoot process issues and perform root-cause analysis.
  • Generate internal documentation: technical reports, presentations, and product documentation.
  • Engage with customers and address basic process concerns under direct supervision.
  • Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to support process development.
  • Support implementation of new technologies, products, and analytical instrumentation.
  • Conduct experiments and collaborate with global R&D teams on research projects.

Requirements

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving attitude and quality-focused mindset.
  • Basic data analysis skills and familiarity with experimental documentation.
  • Ability to perform hardware characterization and laboratory measurements under supervision.
  • Willingness to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external vendors.
  • Willingness to travel (approximately 10%).
  • Nice-to-have: research experience in the semiconductor or display fields.

Education Requirements

PhD, Master’s, or Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, or a related technical field. Research focus in the semiconductor field is an advantage. (Posting indicates new college grad candidates are considered.)
