R&D Engineering Sr. Staff Engineer

Role Summary

The R&D Engineering Sr. Staff Engineer at Synopsys focuses on advancing semiconductor manufacturing through expertise in lithography and advanced OPC/RET techniques. Collaborating with R&D teams and customers, this role aims to address technical challenges faced in mask synthesis and lithography.

Responsibilities

The key responsibilities include:

• Collaborating with customers and R&D teams to resolve technical challenges.
• Translating customer requirements into Product Requirement Documents (PRDs).
• Reviewing functional specifications for alignment with customer needs.
• Conducting early-stage testing of new features and functionalities.
• Prototyping advanced OPC/RET solutions for production tools.
• Supporting Application Engineers and customers in troubleshooting production issues.
• Developing training materials and conducting technical workshops.
• Assisting in producing release notes and comprehensive documentation.

Requirements

The following skills and qualifications are essential:

• PhD or Master’s degree in Physics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 3+ years in Lithography, OPC/RET, and mask synthesis.
• Proficiency in Linux/UNIX and Python scripting.
• Strong analytical skills for solving complex technical problems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Broad knowledge of RET, ILT, and OPC solutions.

Education Requirements

A PhD or Master’s degree in Physics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is expected.
