Job Title
R&D Engineering Manager (Embedded Memory)
Role Summary
Lead a Da Nang engineering team responsible for architecture, circuit design, physical implementation, and silicon delivery of embedded memory IP (SRAM, register files, ROM) for advanced process nodes. Collaborate with system architects, physical design, verification, and global teams to meet power, performance, and area targets for AI, automotive, mobile, and data center SoCs.
Manage engineers, define block specifications, drive silicon evaluation and root-cause analysis, and improve design methodologies and technology evaluation.
Experience Level
Senior β 10+ years in embedded memory design and engineering team management.
Responsibilities
Core responsibilities include technical leadership of memory IP development and people management.
- Lead architecture, circuit design, and physical implementation of embedded memory IP (SRAM, register files, ROM) across advanced nodes.
- Define block specifications with system architects and translate customer requirements into concrete design targets.
- Manage circuit and layout engineers: assign work packages, track progress, and coordinate with project management.
- Execute design reviews and create documentation including datasheets and design reports.
- Support silicon evaluation, analyze field issues, and drive root-cause analysis when designs fail.
- Drive continuous improvement in design methodologies and technology evaluation with global teams.
Requirements
Must-have technical and management qualifications.
-
Technical: Deep expertise in SRAM, register file, and ROM architecture with advanced custom circuit implementations; experience with variation-aware design.
-
Process nodes: Direct experience designing memory IP in advanced nodes (7nm, 5nm, or beyond).
-
Full flow: Experience across embedded memory design flow: architecture, circuit design, physical implementation, compiler automation, characterization, timing, and model generation.
-
Tools: Strong knowledge of digital design, verification methodologies, and industry-standard EDA tools.
-
Management: Experience managing engineering teams, including task delegation, performance management, and technical mentorship.
-
Silicon: Experience supporting silicon bring-up, evaluation, and root-cause analysis.
-
Nice-to-have: Experience with memory compiler IP, cross-site technical leadership, and advanced variation-aware modeling.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
