R&D Engineering Internship
Role Summary
The R&D Engineering Intern will support Synopsys' R&D engineering efforts in Hsinchu by contributing to automation and simulation performance-optimization work for product development. The role involves hands-on engineering tasks under mentorship and collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams.
Program is full-time, in-office for 8 weeks starting July 2026 in Hsinchu, Taiwan.
Experience Level
Entry-level (Internship).
Responsibilities
Internship responsibilities include:
- Contribute to R&D engineering projects that affect Synopsys' technology and product development.
- Develop and optimize shell scripts to automate workflows and improve engineering efficiency.
- Work on PrimeSim performance optimization, focusing on runlvl=6/5 speedups for standard-cell decks.
- Collaborate with experienced engineers to analyze, troubleshoot, and implement technical solutions.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas to advance project goals and product capabilities.
Requirements
Must-have skills and attributes:
- Strong proficiency in shell scripting and automation techniques.
- Familiarity with circuit simulation concepts and performance optimization methodologies (experience with PrimeSim is expected).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Good communication and collaboration skills; ability to work in diverse, cross-functional teams.
Nice-to-have:
- Interest or experience in semiconductor and EDA tools and workflows.
- Enthusiasm for learning new technologies and contributing to R&D projects.
Education Requirements
Currently pursuing a master's degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
