R&D Engineering Engineer

Role Summary

The R&D Engineering Engineer role at Synopsys involves designing and developing software for HFSS and related products. You will work within a collaborative R&D team in Vancouver to deliver high-quality solutions that meet customer needs and enhance product capabilities.

Experience Level

Mid-level, with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field and at least 2 years of experience, or a Master’s degree.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

• Designing, implementing, maintaining, testing, and documenting software modules for HFSS and related products.
• Collaborating with professionals to translate customer requirements into development objectives.
• Transforming existing software to enhance modularity and integration.
• Employing industry best practices in software development.
• Performing bug verification, release testing, and beta support.
• Analyzing marketing requirements to inform development decisions.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience include:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (Master’s preferred).
• Proficiency in C++ and Python.
• Experience with software design and development methodologies.
• Technical knowledge in numerical analysis, object-oriented design, scripting languages, data structures, and algorithms.
• Experience in large-scale commercial software development environments.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; Master’s degree is preferred.
