R&D Engineer, IC Design
Role Summary
Design and deliver front-end RTL and silicon for Ethernet/IP switching and related IP blocks used in large-scale data center, AI/ML and cloud networking products. The role focuses on RTL development, front-end design and silicon debug within a global design and architecture team.

Responsibilities
Primary day-to-day responsibilities include design and verification tasks across front-end development and silicon bring-up.
- Develop and maintain RTL for complex IP blocks in Ethernet/IP switching products.
- Perform front-end design tasks and participate in design-for-test and silicon bring-up/debug.
- Collaborate with architecture and worldwide design teams to define and deliver silicon features on accelerated schedules.
- Produce technical documentation and design specifications; communicate design status to stakeholders.
- Deliver high-quality designs that meet performance, area and reliability targets for data center applications.
Requirements
Essential technical and professional qualifications (must-haves listed first, followed by notable preferences).
- Extensive industry experience in RTL design and front-end IC development (see Education Requirements for years expected).
- Strong experience with silicon debug and bringing up tapeouts.
- Proven ability to work under accelerated schedules and deliver complex blocks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and documentation skills.
- Self-starter and effective team player within distributed engineering teams.
- Nice-to-have: experience scripting with Python or Perl.
Education Requirements
Specifies a technical bachelor's degree plus very senior experience or a master's degree with slightly less experience: B.S. in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) plus 18+ years of industry RTL design experience is required; alternatively M.S. in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) with ~16 years' experience (and experience with Python/Perl noted as a plus).
