R&D Engineer Hardware 4

Role Summary

Design and verify high-precision mixed-signal and analog integrated-circuit blocks for product silicon. The role partners with layout, P&R, verification, and validation teams to deliver robust analog IP and silicon-tested blocks.

Experience Level

Mid-level. The posting requests 6+ years of industry experience but is open to exceptional junior or senior candidates.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include hands-on analog block design, implementation oversight, and silicon validation.

• Architect and verify high-precision analog blocks (voltage/current references, ADCs, DACs, regulators, comparators, op-amps).
• Collaborate with custom layout and place-and-route teams to guide physical implementation and achieve timing/verification closure.
• Develop test infrastructure and test vectors; validate analog blocks on silicon test chips.
• Produce technical documentation such as datasheets, application notes, and integration guides.
• Work with cross-functional teams to integrate analog blocks into broader mixed-signal systems.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience.

• Significant hands-on analog/mixed-signal IC design experience (precision analog blocks).
• Deep proficiency with Cadence Virtuoso schematic capture and ADE.
• Experience with SPICE-based simulators (Spectre, Hspice, Finesim) for circuit verification.
• Experience developing functional and timing models; familiarity with Verilog and Synopsys Liberty.
• Proven experience in silicon validation and building test infrastructure for analog blocks.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with layout, P&R, verification, and software teams.

Nice-to-have:

• Mixed-signal integration experience (RTL coding, synthesis, digital wrappers).
• Python and data-analysis or AI/ML experience for dataset analysis and predictive modeling.

Education Requirements

MSEE or PhD in Electrical Engineering preferred.
