Job Title
PCIe Engineer
Role Summary
Join the High-Speed IO Team to define PCIe subsystem architecture and lead RTL implementation for high-performance SoC/ASIC designs. Ensure correct integration and interaction between the PCIe subsystem and processor cores using AMBA-CHI coherency, and collaborate with cross-functional hardware and verification teams.
Experience Level
Mid-level. Typical experience: Engineer: 4+ years; Lead Engineer: 6+ years.
Responsibilities
Primary technical responsibilities include architecture definition, RTL delivery, and integration of PCIe into SoC environments.
- Define PCIe subsystem architecture and interface requirements.
- Lead RTL design and implementation using Verilog or VHDL.
- Integrate PCIe IP into SoC/ASIC environments and ensure interoperability with AMBA-CHI and other interconnects.
- Collaborate with core and system teams to meet coherency and performance targets.
- Develop and execute block-level tests and support verification activities.
- Support synthesis, timing closure, CDC, and lint readiness of PCIe blocks.
Requirements
Concise list of required and preferred technical skills.
-
Must-have: 4+ years industry experience (Engineer) or 6+ years (Lead Engineer).
-
Must-have: Proven PCIe experience (design or integration).
-
Must-have: SoC/ASIC IP integration experience.
-
Must-have: RTL design proficiency in Verilog or VHDL.
-
Must-have: Experience with at least one interconnect protocol: AXI, CHI, or AHB.
-
Must-have: Experience with basic block-level testing.
-
Nice-to-have: Knowledge of C++ and scripting (Python, Perl, Bash, TCL).
-
Nice-to-have: Familiarity with revision control (git, svn) and common digital design tools (synthesis, timing analysis, CDC, lint).
-
Nice-to-have: Experience with coherency concepts and protocols and/or CXL.
Education Requirements
Preferred: Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. (Education is listed as desired, not strictly required.)
