R&D Engineer - Frontend Design Flow (Synthesis & Methodology)

Role Summary

Member of the R&D engineering team in Bengaluru responsible for developing and validating frontend design flows for logic synthesis and methodology. The role focuses on flow implementation, automation, tool integration, and improving synthesis quality and performance.

Works with cross-functional teams to define requirements, debug flow issues, and deliver reliable, reproducible design flows for internal and external users.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

• Design, implement, and maintain frontend design flows for logic synthesis and methodology.
• Develop automation and tools (scripting, flow orchestration) to streamline flow execution and validation.
• Integrate and validate flows with EDA tools and simulation environments.
• Benchmark and optimize synthesis quality, runtime, and resource usage.
• Perform root-cause analysis and debugging of design and flow failures.
• Collaborate with RTL designers, verification and back-end teams, and customers to gather requirements and provide support.
• Prepare technical documentation, test plans, and reproducible regression suites.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience:

• Hands-on experience with logic synthesis and frontend design flows.
• Proficiency in RTL (Verilog/SystemVerilog) concepts and synthesis constraints.
• Scripting experience in Python, Tcl, or similar languages for automation.
• Comfortable using Linux and command-line EDA tool workflows.
• Strong debugging, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience with commercial synthesis tools and EDA tool integration.
• Experience developing methodology, automation frameworks, and regression suites.
• Knowledge of timing closure, STA concepts, and optimization techniques.
