R&D DFT Engineer for 3D and 2.5D Devices
SiemensJob Title
R&D DFT Engineer for 3D and 2.5D Devices
Role Summary
Join the Tessent research and development team to develop test solutions for 3D and 2.5D ICs. Work with an international engineering team across software, hardware, QA, support, and product marketing to add functionality and improve test technology.
This role focuses on research and implementation of design-for-test (DFT) techniques, EDA tool development, and test strategies for advanced multi-die assemblies.
Experience Level
Mid-level research/engineering role. PhD required; specific years of experience not specified.
Responsibilities
Typical responsibilities include:
- Design and implement DFT and test algorithms for 3D/2.5D devices.
- Develop software tools and prototypes using C/C++, TCL, and Python.
- Define and validate test structures (scan, scan compression, BIST, boundary scan, ATPG) for advanced ICs.
- Work on interconnect test and repair strategies specific to 3D ICs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (QA, support, documentation, product) to deliver product features.
- Lead or contribute to technical projects, including design, simulation, and verification of ASIC/VLSI circuits.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and abilities:
- Coursework and project experience with VLSI design, HDL synthesis, VLSI testing, and DFT methodologies.
- Deep knowledge of DFT structures: scan methodology, scan compression, logic BIST, boundary scan, and ATPG.
- Strong background in 3D IC test, including interconnect test and repair concepts.
- Strong EDA development skills: C/C++, TCL, and Python for tool and project implementation.
- Familiarity with IEEE test standards such as IEEE 1500, IEEE 1687, and IEEE 1838.
- Experience with design, simulation, and verification of ASIC/VLSI circuits and systems.
- Analytical problem-solving skills and good written and verbal English communication.
Nice-to-have:
- Exposure to machine learning or AI techniques applied to EDA/test problems.
- UNIX/Linux experience.
- Familiarity with Tessent CAD tools (e.g., TestKompress, FastScan, Memory BIST, Diagnosis).
- Experience with Verilog, SystemVerilog, or VHDL at behavioral/RTL/gate levels.
Education Requirements
Must have a PhD in Electrical & Computer Engineering. The posting also references coursework or project experience in VLSI design, HDL synthesis, VLSI testing, and design-for-test. No equivalency or alternative-degree language was provided.
