Quantum Ion Trap Integrator — Sr. Section Manager
Role Summary
Lead a team of integration engineers within GF Labs / Technology Development to develop and deliver semiconductor integration solutions for scalable ion-trap quantum computing platforms. Focus areas include BEOL CMOS integration, interconnects, high-voltage and RF device requirements, photonics integration, and advanced packaging.
Experience Level
Senior — requires at least 5+ years of relevant experience in semiconductor process or integration engineering.
Responsibilities
Accountable for technical direction, team development, and program delivery for ion-trap integration projects.
- Lead semiconductor integration efforts for ion-trap quantum computing platforms (BEOL CMOS, photonics, packaging).
- Drive yield-learning and integration debug activities, including root-cause analysis, DOE definition, and corrective actions.
- Translate system and device requirements into manufacturable integration schemes, process requirements, and design rules.
- Manage, mentor, and develop a team of integration engineers; set technical priorities and deliverables.
- Coordinate cross-functional execution with device engineering, process development, packaging, reliability, and manufacturing teams.
- Report integration progress, risks, and mitigation plans to internal leadership and stakeholders.

Must-have: Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience in semiconductor process or integration engineering.

Must-have: Experience translating device/system requirements into process requirements, design rules, and manufacturable integration schemes.

Must-have: Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams and coordinate cross-functional execution; travel approximately 10%.

Nice-to-have: Experience with BEOL CMOS integration, photonics integration, or advanced packaging.

Nice-to-have: Familiarity with yield learning, DOE methodologies, and semiconductor metrology techniques.

Nice-to-have: Exposure to quantum computing hardware, ion trapping technologies, or cryogenic/vacuum systems; experience with HV and RF device requirements.

Education Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field.
