Quality Assurance Engineer (Testing Process)

Role Summary

Lead and govern final-stage IC test quality and test process controls for production test operations. The role focuses on preventing escape defects, minimizing test-induced damage, and ensuring compliance with automotive and customer quality standards for final test and Automated Test Equipment (ATE) setups.

Experience Level

Mid-level. Requires at least 3 years of experience in semiconductor backend quality engineering, IC final testing, or related product engineering roles.

Responsibilities

Own quality performance for final test operations and drive corrective actions.

• Monitor and maintain product and process quality to meet customer and company standards.
• Lead 8D structured problem-solving teams to investigate yield drops, high retest rates, and customer returns (RMA).
• Implement and enforce controls to prevent mechanical and electrostatic damage during automated handling.
• Chair the Material Review Board (MRB) to evaluate and disposition non-conforming lots and unusual binning patterns.
• Update Process FMEA (PFMEA) using real-time line failure data.
• Perform routine process and workstation audits to maintain alignment with ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 standards.

Requirements

Core technical and practical skills required for the role.

• 3+ years in semiconductor backend quality engineering, specifically IC final testing or product engineering.
• Practical experience with APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, and 8D methodologies.
• Experience with Automated Test Equipment (ATE) and final test operations preferred.
• Strong analytical skills, self-motivation, and ability to work independently or within cross-functional teams.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills; able to interact at all organizational levels.

Education Requirements

At least a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Microelectronics, or a related discipline is required.
