Quality and Reliability System Engineer (Contract)

Role Summary

Design, develop and execute system-level and post-silicon validation and stress experiments to verify CPU functionality, performance and reliability. Work within the Silicon and Platform Engineering Group and collaborate with architecture, design, verification, board, platform and manufacturing teams to debug silicon issues and maintain automation and test infrastructure.

Experience Level

Entry-level - 0–1 years of hands-on experience (internships, academic projects, coursework or equivalent practical experience).

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include planning and executing system stress and functional validation, developing automation and tools, and analyzing results to drive design and test improvements.

• Develop and execute system stress experiments on Windows and Linux to validate CPU behavior under voltage, temperature, and frequency variation.
• Automate stress flows and test control for voltage, temperature and frequency.
• Create and maintain test tools and scripts for debugging and validation.
• Analyze and report test results; provide recommendations for fixes and test improvements.
• Perform silicon debug and triage to identify root causes of functional failures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine validation strategies and resolve issues.
• Maintain post-silicon validation infrastructure and automation.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and abilities; preferred items listed separately.

• Strong Python programming skills; other object-oriented languages (e.g., C++) considered.
• Experience with Windows and Linux distributions (Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu, Fedora).
• Strong troubleshooting and debug skills for hardware and software interactions.
• Good verbal and written English communication skills for international collaboration (B2 level or higher).

Nice-to-have:

• Foundational understanding of CPU architecture and microarchitecture principles.
• Experience developing system-level automation and validation tools.
• Experience tuning workloads for system-level stress experiments.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, computer science, electronics engineering or a related field. The posting specifies 0–1 years of hands-on experience (acceptable via internships, academic projects or coursework). Proficiency in English (B2) and strong programming skills are expected.
