Quality and Reliability Engineer
Role Summary
The Customer Quality and Reliability Engineer provides technical quality support to customers across the product lifecycle, from design qualification through production ramp and field returns. The role focuses on resolving customer technical issues, analyzing quality trends, and driving improvements to ensure product robustness and customer satisfaction.
Experience Level
Entry-level. Targeted for recent graduates: 0–1 years of hands-on experience; a Master’s degree in a relevant field may be acceptable with no prior professional experience.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include direct customer support, trend analysis, and cross-functional problem resolution.
- Collaborate with customers to identify and resolve technical quality issues to maintain business continuity.
- Analyze customer quality and reliability trends and translate findings into systematic improvement actions.
- Provide quality support during customer design qualification, production ramp, and field return events.
- Align design-for-manufacturability (DFX/DFM) requirements and troubleshoot customer production challenges to accelerate ramp.
- Represent the customer quality voice internally to influence product and process improvements.
- Lead or contribute to cross-functional problem-solving efforts to achieve timely technical resolutions.

- Must-have: Proficiency in data analysis and quality engineering fundamentals with the ability to extract actionable insights from customer feedback and test data.
- Must-have: Practical knowledge of manufacturability and reliability principles, including DFX/DFM practices.
- Must-have: Strong analytical and methodical problem-solving skills.
- Must-have: Effective written and verbal communication skills for technical customer engagement and cross-functional collaboration.
- Nice-to-have: Familiarity with customer engagement/support processes in a technical environment (e.g., handling returns, qualification processes).
- Nice-to-have: Hands-on exposure from internships, academic projects, or laboratory work in semiconductor, materials, or related technical domains.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in a technical field (for example: Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, Electrical/Mechanical/Chemical Engineering, Mechatronics, Biomedical Engineering, Nanotechnology, Mathematics or related). Alternatives: Master's degree in a relevant field accepted with no prior professional experience.
