Role Summary

Join the R&D software team in New Cairo to design, implement, and execute test plans that ensure the quality and reliability of Siemens EDA products across releases. The role covers manual and automated testing, test-framework development, integration of customer use cases, and cross-team defect triage.

Experience Level

Mid-level. No explicit years-of-experience specified; suitable for engineers with practical QA/test experience in digital design or related domains.

Responsibilities

Principal responsibilities include planning and executing tests, improving automation, and evaluating product performance across releases.

• Design, maintain, and execute comprehensive product test plans and test cases.
• Perform integration, regression, licensing, installation, and GUI testing across multiple release cycles.
• Design and enhance test automation frameworks to reduce manual effort and accelerate release timelines.
• Integrate customer designs and use cases into internal test environments to validate real-world scenarios.
• Conduct product benchmarking and performance evaluations across releases.
• Report, validate, and triage software defects; perform root-cause analysis and assess impact and priority with R&D teams.
• Use code-coverage and profiling tools to evaluate test effectiveness and identify coverage gaps.

Requirements

Key technical skills and tools required or preferred.

• Must-have: Strong understanding of digital design and RTL design fundamentals.
• Must-have: Solid knowledge of one or more hardware description languages (Verilog, VHDL, SystemVerilog).
• Must-have: Experience with scripting languages such as Shell, Perl, or Python.
• Must-have: Good understanding of software quality assurance principles and software testing methodologies.
• Must-have: Familiarity with test strategies, test planning, test automation tools, defect tracking, and configuration management.
• Nice-to-have: Familiarity with Siemens EDA tools (simulation, synthesis, design entry, functional verification flows).
• Nice-to-have: Experience with code profiling, coverage tools, and performance measurement techniques.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for cross-team collaboration.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
