Role Summary

The Project Engineering Manager (PEM) plans and executes engineering development projects for high-performance computing (HPC) products. The role leads cross-functional teams, manages schedules, resources and risks, and represents R&D to customers and senior leadership.

Experience Level

Senior - typically requires at least 6 years of relevant engineering and project management experience.

Responsibilities

Manage end-to-end execution of semiconductor engineering projects and ensure alignment across teams and stakeholders.

• Define project requirements, scope, objectives and success criteria with cross-functional teams.
• Create and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, resource allocations and risk mitigation strategies.
• Monitor project progress, identify issues early and implement corrective actions to keep projects on schedule and within scope.
• Communicate status, milestones and risks to stakeholders and senior leadership.
• Represent R&D in customer engagements and coordinate escalation and mitigation activities.
• Mentor and guide team members; foster collaboration and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and project management capabilities; preferred items noted separately.

• Proven experience managing semiconductor engineering projects, ideally in ASIC design/verification/implementation.
• Background in ASIC design, verification or implementation - preferably digital.
• Experience with 3rd-party IP integration (digital) and supplier coordination.
• Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to summarize key points concisely and objectively.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills; ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects.
• Proficiency with project management tools; MS Project preferred.
• Solid engineering fundamentals and problem-solving ability.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or master’s degree in engineering or a related field. PMP certification is an advantage.
