Semiconductor IP Jobs, Level - Mid-Career

Job Title

Program Management Engineer

Role Summary

As Technical Program Manager on the Embedded Processing Silicon IP team, you will plan, coordinate, and deliver complex IP development and licensing programs across multiple IP domain verticals (AI accelerators, compute clusters, security, communications, networking, control & sense, platform & infrastructure). You will align cross-functional engineering, business development, and external partners to meet tape-out and reuse delivery milestones.

The role focuses on schedule, risk, and stakeholder management to enable predictable IP delivery across multiple SoC platforms.

Experience Level

Mid-level - requires 5+ years of technical program management experience (semiconductor, EDA, or IP licensing preferred).

Responsibilities

Manage end-to-end program delivery, stakeholder communication, and process improvements for silicon IP across domains.

  • Lead program planning, schedules, risk registers, and status reporting for IP projects and tape-out readiness.
  • Define program scope, goals, milestones, and success metrics with IP domain leads and chip architects.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including RTL design, verification, physical design, software, legal, and business development.
  • Manage IP reuse schedules and standardisation across multiple SoC platforms.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for program status, executive reporting, and escalations.
  • Prepare and present dashboards, roadmaps, and PPA/schedule health metrics to leadership.
  • Facilitate cross-team meetings, enforce action ownership, and escalate blockers to keep programs on schedule.
  • Implement and continuously improve program tracking tools and reproducible processes for IP delivery.

Requirements

Minimum required skills and domain knowledge for successful performance in this role.

  • 5+ years of technical program management experience in semiconductor, EDA, IP licensing, or closely related environments.
  • Proven experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder programs spanning RTL, verification, physical design, and software teams.
  • Strong understanding of semiconductor IP across domains: processor cores, AI accelerators, HSMs, communication IPs, networking fabrics, mixed-signal interfaces, and SoC infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with SoC development lifecycle: architecture definition, RTL implementation, verification, physical design, and tape-out.
  • Experience with program management tools and dashboards (e.g., Jira, Confluence, MS Project) and strong communication/presentation skills.
  • Ability to identify and mitigate cross-domain risks, manage dependencies, and drive schedule trade-offs.
  • Nice-to-have: background in RTL or DV, experience with IP licensing or open-source IP (RISC-V, Caliptra), knowledge of functional safety and security certification impacts, and AI accelerator program exposure.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
