Role Summary
Micron seeks an engineer to apply data science, software engineering, and analytics to semiconductor manufacturing data within the Product Yield & Analytics (PYA) organization. The role focuses on enhancing ESDA (Improved Software for Defect Analysis) capabilities and analytics platforms to improve yield, quality, and reliability for memory products.
The position partners with Data Scientists, Data Engineers, Product and Yield teams, Failure Analysis, and IT across global sites to deliver analytics, predictive models, and engineering software that accelerate manufacturing feedback and product development.

Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include building analytics capabilities, engineering software, and models that drive yield and reliability improvements.
- Expand and enhance ESDA analytics capabilities for defect analysis and yield improvement.
- Develop yield, defect-matching, and predictive modeling methods to speed feedback to RDA and Yield Enhancement teams.
- Create and maintain engineering software tools for ESDA analytics and product-line monitoring.
- Collaborate with design, failure analysis, product, and build teams to optimize redundancy, compression, and defect-analysis methodologies.
- Support next-generation memory device development with advanced analytics and data-driven insights.
- Apply AI and machine-learning techniques where applicable to automate and improve analysis workflows.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience, plus preferred qualifications.
- Must-have: Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, C++, Java) and practical familiarity with machine-learning and data-science techniques.
- Must-have: Familiarity with Micron's ESDA system or equivalent defect-analysis software.
- Nice-to-have: Experience working with memory products in product engineering, test, build, yield improvement, software development, or data science.
- Nice-to-have: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills applied to complex manufacturing data.
- Nice-to-have: Effective communication skills for multi-functional and global team collaboration.
Education Requirements
BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Software Development, or a related technical field.
