Product Validation II: Hardware Job Scheduler Quality Assurance (QA)

Role Summary

The Product Validation II will join the team responsible for the Hardware Job Scheduler product for Cadence's Palladium emulation platform. The role focuses on feature validation, test automation, release activities, and customer-facing troubleshooting to ensure reliable job scheduling and runtime features.

Experience Level

Mid-level; minimum 2 years of related experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include validation planning, test development, and operational support for releases.

  • Plan and execute customer-focused release validation and regression tests.
  • Define test setups and feature coverage requirements.
  • Develop and maintain validation tests and test infrastructure.
  • Support build, release, and deployment processes in collaboration with CMG/CM teams.
  • Troubleshoot customer issues, reproduce failures, and assist with bug fixes.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and capabilities:

  • Proficient in Python (3.10+).
  • Experience with Enterprise Linux operating systems.
  • Familiarity with bug-tracking systems such as Jira.
  • Experience with job scheduling systems (e.g., IBM LSF, Altair NC, SLURM).
  • Version control experience (git, Perforce).
  • Scripting experience (bash, Tcl).
  • Analytical problem-solving and willingness to learn.
  • Fluent in Portuguese and English (verbal and written).

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience debugging trace logs from live applications.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD platforms (e.g., Jenkins).
  • Experience executing and reporting periodic regression tests.
  • Background with Verilog or VHDL.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. The posting specifies a minimum of 2 years of related experience.
