Product & Test Engineer

Role Summary

Work on silicon validation, ATE hardware/software development, device characterization, and the release of production test solutions within Product Engineering. The team collaborates across functions to develop test methodologies for advanced packaging technologies.

Location: San Diego, CA. This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.

Experience Level

Mid-level - typically requires 3+ years of relevant experience in silicon bring-up, hardware engineering, or high-volume manufacturing.

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities include silicon bring-up, test development, and production release.

• Validate and debug new silicon; characterize device performance across process and operating conditions.
• Develop ATE hardware and software and create test methodologies for advanced packaging technologies.
• Use lab/test equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, network analyzers) for debugging and characterization.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to design cost-effective production tests and transfer solutions into high-volume manufacturing.
• Support release of production test solutions and troubleshoot manufacturing issues.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred skills listed separately.

• 3+ years experience with silicon bring-up and high-volume manufacturing or equivalent hardware engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience with common test equipment: oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, network analyzers.
• Experience in ATE hardware/software development and production test methodology.
• Experience characterizing analog and mixed-signal circuits and processor systems; strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and collaborate across teams.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience with ATE platforms (e.g., Advantest 93K), DFT techniques, Scan/ATPG, JTAG, memory BIST, and CPU testing.
• Experience testing advanced packaging technologies and releasing tests into mass production.
• Proficiency in C/C++, Perl, JMP.
• Knowledge of VLSI design, semiconductor device physics, CMOS, ADCs/DACs/PLLs/Codecs.

Education Requirements

Required: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field. Preferred: Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field.
