Job Title

Product Test Engineer

Role Summary

Member of the Product Development and Test Engineering team responsible for design validation, characterization, and production deployment of SoC IPs in advanced FinFET processes.

Work closely with IC Design, Software, Systems and Operations to enable high-volume manufacturability by developing and releasing cost-effective production test solutions.

Experience Level

Mid-level. Typical background: hardware or test engineering experience (commonly 2+ years), with experience in product development, test validation, and production activities for SoC or related products.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities and daily activities for this role.

  • Operate automated test equipment (ATE) to validate and debug new product functionality.
  • Develop test hardware and software for validation and production test flows.
  • Characterize device performance across process/voltage/temperature corners and analyze yield/measurement data.
  • Release cost-effective production test solutions for high-volume manufacturing.
  • Collaborate with IC design, systems, software, and operations teams to resolve design and test issues.
  • Use oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, logic analyzers and other lab instruments for measurements and debug.
  • Perform routine physical tasks: move/install light equipment, stand/sit for long periods, and monitor test systems for extended hours.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience; followed by useful additional skills.

  • Hands-on hardware engineering or test engineering experience in product development, validation, or production test (experience level commonly 2+ years).
  • Experience operating and debugging with ATE and other measurement equipment (oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, time interval/logic analyzers, network analyzer).
  • Test hardware and embedded/software development experience (Python, C++, Java, Assembly, or embedded SW).
  • Experience with schematic capture and circuit simulation software; practical lab measurement skills.
  • Familiarity with VLSI concepts: digital design, CPU architecture, memory interfaces, high-speed SERDES, and test methodologies.
  • Data analysis skills and experience with analysis tools (e.g., JMP, NI tools) for characterization and yield analysis.
  • Nice-to-have: ATPG/DFT/Scan/JTAG/memory BIST knowledge, experience with Advantest or Teradyne ATE, CMOS analog/mixed-signal measurement experience, familiarity with ARM/microcontroller platforms.

Education Requirements

Acceptable education: Bachelor's, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field. The posting allows equivalent combinations of degree and experience (e.g., Bachelor's + ~2 years, Master’s + ~1 year, or PhD as alternatives).
