Product Security Vulnerability Response Manager - Embedded & Semiconductor Security (m/f/d)

Role Summary

Lead the response to security vulnerabilities in NXP embedded and semiconductor products deployed in automotive, industrial, IoT, mobile, and edge devices. As a member of the Product Security Incident Response Team (PSIRT), coordinate triage, risk assessment, mitigation, and customer communications across engineering, R&D, customers, and external security researchers.

Experience Level

Senior β€” managerial role; expects substantial experience in product, embedded, or hardware security and vulnerability response.

Responsibilities

You will lead and coordinate PSIRT activities across product lifecycles to protect customers and maintain trust.

  • Lead response and coordination for security vulnerabilities affecting NXP hardware and software products.
  • Perform vulnerability triage, impact assessment, severity classification, and prioritization.
  • Collaborate with engineering and product teams to develop and track mitigation and remediation plans.
  • Coordinate responsible disclosure with external researchers, customers, and industry partners.
  • Manage security advisories, CVE processes, and customer communications.
  • Advise product teams on vulnerability management and product security best practices.
  • Improve PSIRT processes, metrics, and operational readiness.

Requirements

Strong, demonstrable experience in product or embedded security and in handling coordinated disclosures and incident response.

Must-have

  • Hands-on experience in Product Security, Embedded Security, Semiconductor Security, or Secure Product Development.
  • Proven background in vulnerability management, coordinated disclosure, incident handling, or product risk management.
  • Familiarity with common attack techniques against semiconductor devices and embedded systems and ability to assess their impact.
  • Ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders (engineering, product management, quality, customer-facing teams).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical and customer-facing communication.

Nice-to-have

  • Prior experience leading a PSIRT or similar product security incident function.
  • Experience with automotive, industrial, IoT, or mobile product security programs.
