Product Quality Engineer, Display/Component
Role Summary
Lead technical quality efforts for display components and modules in Japan, partnering with Design, Engineering, Sourcing, and Manufacturing Process Engineering to ensure supplier and factory readiness for mass production.
The role focuses on yield improvement, failure analysis, supplier quality control, and rapid resolution of technical and operational issues during new product introduction and production ramps.

Senior-level. Requires demonstrated end-to-end display/component quality management experience and established technical leadership; specific years of experience not specified.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead development of quality systems and quality-control tools to deliver scalable products.
- Review product and process design documentation against capability and yield targets.
- Report on product yield performance and specification convergence; drive failure analysis and corrective-action plans to achieve production yield targets.
- Review and improve suppliers' quality control flows, in-process controls, and inspection plans for incoming components and outgoing products.
- Coordinate with supplier process and quality teams to plan process development, secure resources, and expedite failure analysis to meet program schedules.
- Assess supplier production readiness for build events and ramp-ups; identify execution risks and provide mitigation recommendations.
- Monitor supplier process performance and yield loss at process nodes and address critical production issues immediately.
Requirements
Core requirements and desirable skills:

Must-have: End-to-end display/component quality management experience.
- Proven experience leveraging AI and machine learning for advanced data analysis and generating actionable insights.
- Experience with smart manufacturing AI tools.
- Hands-on experience in electrical, chemical, and optical analysis for display/component quality improvement.
- Fluency in English and Japanese (mandatory).
- Experience working with external suppliers in program management and assessing production readiness; ability to travel up to 50%.

Nice-to-have: Background in displays, materials, or semiconductor processes; knowledge of GenAI tool application; experience with TFT, touch, electrical, and optical display operations; in-depth failure analysis experience and familiarity with tools such as FIB/SEM, CT, AFM, FTIR/Raman, spectrometer, TDR.
Education Requirements
BS or MS in Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related field preferred.
