Role Summary

The engineer develops reliability models and risk assessments to enable qualification and launch of advanced semiconductor products. The role works across Product Quality & Reliability, Design, Process, Manufacturing, and Foundry teams to predict product reliability, identify risks, and support data-driven qualification and product-release decisions.

Experience Level

Mid-level. Typical experience guidance: approximately 2–5 years (for candidates with an advanced degree) or 5+ years (for candidates with a B.Tech or equivalent).

Responsibilities

Accountable for modeling, analysis, and cross-functional delivery of reliability assessment and qualification readiness.

  • Develop and execute reliability models to assess product lifetime and qualification readiness.
  • Evaluate failure mechanisms including EM, TDDB, BTI, HCI, thermal and package-related degradation.
  • Analyze qualification, characterization, and manufacturing data to quantify reliability risk.
  • Conduct reliability projections, scenario analyses, and risk assessments for new features and technologies.
  • Drive cross-functional investigations and resolution of reliability concerns.
  • Improve modeling methodologies, automation, and predictive analytics capabilities.
  • Present reliability recommendations to technical teams and management stakeholders.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred items listed separately.

  • Strong understanding of semiconductor device physics and advanced packaging.
  • Experience in reliability modeling, accelerated stress testing, and qualification methodologies.
  • Knowledge of EM, TDDB, BTI, HCI, package reliability, and wear-out mechanisms.
  • Proficiency with Python, JMP, MATLAB, Minitab, or equivalent analytical tools.
  • Strong statistical analysis, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Experience in reliability validation, product development, or test engineering.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience supporting PRQ/qualification decisions.
  • Experience with advanced-node process technologies or advanced packaging.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML techniques applied to reliability prediction.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership across complex product programs.

Education Requirements

MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, Reliability Engineering, or a related field. The posting also references M.Tech/PhD candidates (typical experience 2–5 years) and B.Tech candidates (typical experience 5+ years).
