Product Power Engineer
Role Summary
The Product Power Engineer will work across architecture, design, and implementation teams to measure, model, and reduce power consumption for SiFive IP and products. The role focuses on correlating power models with RTL and silicon, guiding design trade-offs, and improving power-analysis flows.

Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include collecting data, analyzing power behavior, and delivering optimizations that balance performance and power.
- Collect and analyze IP and product power consumption across design stages.
- Guide architecture and design decisions to improve power efficiency.
- Correlate power models with RTL simulations and silicon measurements.
- Develop and improve power-analysis flows and automation.
- Advise teams on performance vs. power trade-offs during design iterations.
Requirements
Key qualifications and skills needed for successful performance in this role.
- 5+ years of experience in power benchmarking, analysis, and modeling.
- Experience assessing power impacts at architecture, logic-design, and circuit levels.
- Strong knowledge of high-performance out-of-order CPU microarchitecture.
- Experience with ASIC power analysis and optimization techniques.
- Proven ability to guide trade-offs between performance and power to reach optimal designs.
- Self-starter with fast learning ability and strong problem-solving skills.
- Nice-to-have: Hands-on expertise in hardware development (RTL, implementation flows, backend, verification, FPGA) or software development.
Education Requirements
MS or PhD in Computer Science or Computer Architecture.
