Principal Product Engineer - Product Engineering
Role Summary
Principal Product Engineer on the product engineering team responsible for qualification, test, yield, and production optimization for server and network processor products. The role works closely with design, test, hardware, firmware, and manufacturing teams to develop test methodology, debug silicon, and drive product readiness for volume production.
Experience Level
Senior (Principal). Minimum 4+ years of semiconductor product engineering experience.
Responsibilities
Lead technical efforts across test, yield, and qualification to meet production, quality, and reliability targets.
- Collaborate with design, process, DFM/DFT, and test teams during development and production.
- Debug and characterize digital and analog circuit performance on silicon.
- Analyze volume data and lab experiments to identify root causes and implement corrective actions for yield and test issues.
- Define and optimize production test screen specifications for wafer sort, final test, and system-level test (SLT).
- Lead test flow optimization, test-time reduction, and test insertion removal efforts.
- Support RMA investigations, customer escalations, and cross-functional resolution activities.
- Drive new product, package, and fab qualification prior to volume production.
- Work with design and DFT/DFM teams to improve yield and test coverage.
Requirements
Core technical skills and experience required; a few desirable skills listed separately.
- Must-have: 4+ years in semiconductor product engineering with hands-on experience in ATE testing and test methodology.
- Must-have: Strong knowledge of silicon process, DFT/DFM practices, and high-speed digital testing.
- Must-have: Experience with Agilent 83K or 93K testers.
- Must-have: Strong problem-solving, communication, teamwork, and ability to operate in a fast-paced production environment.
- Nice-to-have: Mixed-signal test experience and product development background.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with server and network processor products.
- Ability to multi-task and lead continuous improvement efforts for yield, quality, and test time.
