Product Engineer (Product Development) Intern

Role Summary

The Product Engineer (Product Development) Intern will work with the Product Engineering team to support product definition through production release. The role involves hands-on lab work, test development, product validation, and sustaining activities under the guidance of experienced engineers.

The intern will contribute to real product evaluations, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and assist in resolving production and customer issues.

Experience Level

Entry-level internship. Suitable for current undergraduate or graduate students early in their career.

Responsibilities

Primary duties performed during the internship:

• Develop test capability including hardware and software designs.
• Support design validation of early silicon and debug product-related issues.
• Perform product characterization via laboratory testing.
• Define and execute qualification plans with the reliability team and validate qualification hardware.
• Analyze production and reliability test data and support post-release sustaining activities (disposition of early production lots, drive resolution of yield and customer issues).
• Interact with field sales, applications, and customers to resolve product issues; may participate in customer visits.
• Work with bench test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, and signal generators.
• Apply circuits knowledge related to analog/RF circuits, signals and systems, ADCs/DACs, high-speed serial interfaces, and microcontrollers.

• Strong analytical skills and ability to draw conclusions from complex data sets.
• Understanding of statistical analysis.
• Excellent oral and written communication; able to work on multi-discipline development teams.
• Experience with high-level software languages such as C, Microsoft VBA, National Instruments LabVIEW, or MATLAB.
• Willingness to travel (approximately 10%).

Education Requirements

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field. Relevant coursework or project experience in electronics, semiconductors, circuits, testing, or product development is expected.
