Job Title
Product Engineer - NAND Engineering Tool Development
Role Summary
Design and enable engineering tools, hardware solutions, and tester frameworks to support NAND characterization, debug, and validation. Provide hands-on lab support for tester bring-up, data capture, and failure analysis.
Work cross-functionally with Device Product Engineering, Validation, and Platform teams to standardize tester usage, improve engineering efficiency, and contribute to next-generation tester architecture and requirements.
Experience Level
Mid-level; typically requires 2+ years of relevant experience in semiconductor test engineering, product engineering, validation, or engineering tool development.
Responsibilities
Deliver engineering tools, testing enablement, and hands-on debug support for semiconductor test platforms.
- Design device-specific hardware solutions and tester frameworks for characterization, debug, and validation.
- Develop and refine engineering tools, debug features, and workflows to improve tester usability and diagnostic capability.
- Lead tester bring-up, issue triage, and root-cause failure analysis in lab environments.
- Integrate lab instrumentation (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power instrumentation) with testers to capture reliable diagnostic data.
- Apply automated and AI-enabled approaches to accelerate tester program development and debugging where appropriate.
- Collaborate with global Device PE, Validation, SIG, and Platform teams on tester capabilities, limitations, and roadmap priorities.
- Contribute practical feedback to next-generation tester architecture and requirements.
Requirements
Core technical skills and experience required to perform the role.
Must-have:
- 2+ years of experience in semiconductor test engineering, product engineering, validation engineering, or engineering tool development.
- Hands-on experience with semiconductor test platforms, tester bring-up, debug, and characterization.
- Proficiency in programming (C/C++, Python, or similar) for tester automation and tool development.
- Experience integrating lab instrumentation with test systems and capturing diagnostic data.
- Experience with debugging methodologies, root-cause analysis, and failure investigation.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; able to work across global cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience using AI-assisted software development tools to improve productivity, code quality, or debugging efficiency.
- Experience contributing to tester architecture or long-term tester roadmap discussions.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field (preferred).
