Role Summary

3-month full-time internship on a product engineering team to develop an automated (agentic) flow that monitors semiconductor design health metrics and triggers automated fixes. The role involves software development, test/validation, and collaboration with foundry partners.

The team focuses on tools and automation for electronic design automation (EDA) workflows and chip design reliability.

Experience Level

Entry-level / Internship. Suitable for current students or recent graduates; no specific years of post-graduate experience required.

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities for the internship:

• Design and implement an automated flow to monitor design health metrics.
• Develop mechanisms to trigger and apply automated fixes where appropriate.
• Integrate and test the flow with existing EDA tools and design data.
• Collaborate closely with foundry partners and internal teams to validate fixes and ensure compatibility.
• Create tests, validation plans, and documentation for delivered features.
• Debug, profile, and improve the reliability and performance of the automation.

Requirements

Minimum skills and expectations for candidates.

• Proven software engineering skills; experience writing production-quality code and using version control.
• Comfortable programming and scripting (e.g., Python, C++ or similar).
• Ability to design tests and validate software behavior in complex workflows.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective communication with technical partners.
• Available to work full time for a 3-month internship period.
• Preferred: prior exposure to EDA tools, semiconductor design workflows, or automation/infrastructure projects.

Education Requirements

Prerequisite: a software engineering degree (e.g., BS in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field) with exposure to EDA and the semiconductor design environment.
