Product Engineer II

Role Summary

Work with the FastSPICE R&D team to support new technology development, validate product features, and analyze customer-reported transistor-level simulation issues. The role focuses on delivering reliable FastSPICE solutions through debugging, testing, and cross-functional collaboration.

Experience Level

Mid-level. Typical experience varies by degree: MS with 0–2 years relevant experience or BS with 2–4 years relevant experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include validating simulation features, reproducing and resolving customer issues, and documenting technical findings.

  • Support new technology development and product enhancements for FastSPICE.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot customer-reported transistor-level circuit simulation issues.
  • Validate and test new product features and methodologies.
  • Reproduce, debug, and resolve technical issues with development teams.
  • Develop and run simulation test cases to evaluate functionality and performance.
  • Document findings, recommendations, and resolutions for internal teams and customers.
  • Communicate technical information clearly to engineering teams and stakeholders.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and capabilities for success in the role.

  • Basic understanding of MOS transistor-level circuit design and semiconductor fundamentals.
  • Hands-on experience with SPICE and/or FastSPICE simulation tools (coursework, research, internships, or industry experience).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

Nice-to-have:

  • Familiarity with analog, mixed-signal, custom digital, or memory circuit design.
  • Exposure to EDA tools and simulation methodologies.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Perl, or Tcl.
  • Knowledge of semiconductor device physics and circuit verification concepts.

Education Requirements

MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field with 0–2 years of relevant experience, OR BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field with 2–4 years of relevant experience. Fields specified: Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical fields.
